The Boston Range

 Antique traditional softwood bedroom furniture.

Boston is influenced by the colonial designs made popular by the tastes of travellers to the Far East trading centres at the turn of the last century.

Even today this range is produced in the time honoured way  of frame and panel construction. Originally furniture was made this way to allow for movement in the wood caused by the tropical heat.

Every piece is hand made by craftsmen in southern china so each item has its own characteristics with no two being exactly the same.  Then it is shipped here via the old trade route through Shanghai The same journey the originals would have made over a century ago.

The timber used is locally grown softwood, which the locals call ‘songwood’. This is complimented with inset panels made from plywood with a contrasting hardwood veneer for effect.

The finish is carefully applied by hand in four separate layers to replicate the patina you would find on an original piece. A real metal handle is used to complete the effect.

All you need to do  to maintain the finish is a regular dust with a dry cloth & an occasional spray with a proprietary household polish. Boston will bring a touch of old colonial elegance to any room.
